Spurs are a work in progress under new manager Antonio Conte who was confirmed as the man in the dugout for the North London club last month. The Italian tactician was the replacement for ex-Wolves boss NunoEspirito Santo who started the season as the new Tottenham Hotspur manager and was sacked a few months later after a poor run of results in the league. The final straw that broke the camel’s back was the lean performance against struggling Manchester United at home. Nuno watched on as Spurs were beaten 3-0 at home at the end of October with goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, EdinsonCavani and Englishman Marcus Rashford who came on as a substitute in the second half.

Conte has led Tottenham Hotspur to a three-match unbeaten run since he became their manager including the latest win over newly promoted outfit Brentford.

Spurs took the lead against the Bees on 12 minutes after the clearance from Brentford skipper Pontus Jansson deflected off SergiCanos and into the back of their net in unfortunate fashion. Brentford went in search of an equaliser but they could not bridge the Spurs rearguard until twenty minutes into the second half whenthe home team sealed the points through South Korean international Heung-Min Son off the assist from Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon.

The win over Brentford lifted Tottenham Hotspur to sixth spot with 22 points from 13 league games. The North Londoners are firmly back in the race for a Champions League spotafter their second successive league win.
