FIVE EVERTON PLAYERS OUT FOR WATFORD

Merseysiders Everton will be without as many as five players for their Premier League clash with Watford this weekend. Everton play hosts to the Hornets at the Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon and the quintet of AbdoulayeDoucoure, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Fabian Delph, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes won’t be available for the game due to injury.

Frenchman Doucoure has been one of the standout players for the Toffees this season but he’s set for a long spell on the sidelines after he sustained a foot injury in the last league game at home to West Ham United. The injury to Doucoure heaped more misery on an Everton side who lost their first league game at home against the Hammers. Italian centre back Angelo Ogbonna scored in the second half to lead West Ham United to a 1-0 win at the expense of their hosts.

England international Calvert-Lewin will also miss the Watford game after his injury setback. He has been on the sidelines since the 2-0 away win over Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of August. Calvert-Lewin sustained a thigh injury during the Brighton game and has missed six matches since then.

Colombian international Yerry Mina won’t be available as well for Everton against the Hornets this weekend due to an hamstring problem. Everton boss Rafael Benitez told pressmen in his pre-match conference for the Everton game that the defender picked up an hamstring problem in training and that he won’t make the squad for the Watford game.

The midfield duo of Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph will also miss the Hornets game due to injury and they are not expected back in the Everton team until next month at the earliest.

Everton are favourites ahead of the Watford game as they look to bounce back from the West Ham defeat earlier this week.
