It’s hard to predict that English Premier League club Chelsea will be signing a lot of players this summer, given how much they splashed in the last transfer window to secure a couple of signings. Although they are expected to dip their hands into the market and bring on new faces to the club, they could be working with a tighter budget than they did the last time and it would be very much understandable if they were to do that.
The Blues signed the likes of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, Ben Chilwell from Leicester City, Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, and Thiago Silva (free transfer) from Paris Saint-Germain but among these signings, the attackers have not been really performing up to their standard yet.
And this time around, if they are to scout for new signings, it is expected that they may look to sign more attackers, with the striking role an important area of consideration. Let’s take a look at the options they could be eyeing.
Erling Haaland
Although they may be priced out a move for the Borussia Dortmund striker, they could still attempt to sign the Norwegian forward this summer. But they will have to face competition from Manchester United, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.
Declan Rice
Former manager Frank Lampard claimed he tried to sign Rice from West Ham during his reign but the Hammers refused to sell. Reports claim they are still interested in the midfielder and could return for him in the summer.
That could be all their plans for the summer as they are not expected to spend lavishly this time.
